The talk is part of Earth Day activities at the school, and also includes a tap-versus-bottled water taste test (The students claim that 9 out of 10 kids prefer tap water).<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bulletinbottle.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Plastic_Bottle_Sea.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-234\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bulletinbottle.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Plastic_Bottle_Sea.jpg\" alt=\"Plastic_Bottle_Sea\" width=\"468\" height=\"456\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bulletinbottle.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Plastic_Bottle_Sea.jpg 468w, https:\/\/www.bulletinbottle.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Plastic_Bottle_Sea-300x292.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px\" \/><\/a>Now three classmates in that club are fighting back against single-use plastic water bottles throughout their town.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Worded similarly to that of a <a href=\"http:\/\/bulletinbottle.com\/the-bottle-bulletin\/plastic-bottle-bans-the-new-normal\">ban that recently took effect in nearby Concord<\/a>, the students collected 108 signatures and earned the right to ask Arlington\u2019s Town Meeting members to ban the sale of single-serving plastic water bottles.<\/p>\n<p>Viewing the bottles as harmful to the environment, the students have also been trying to have four machines that serve water bottles removed from the cafeteria at AHS.<\/p>\n<p>Their proposed alternative is a filtration machine to be installed in the cafeteria.
