Insulated Tumbler or Acrylic Tumbler with Straw: What’s The Difference?

Our Insulated Tumbler with Straw and Acrylic Tumbler with Straw look to be the same, but there are several key differences between the two that may dictate which product works best for your needs. Read our owner’s take on these two popular “bottles”.

When I first saw the Insulated Tumbler at a trade show earlier this year, I wasn’t crazy about it.  I reguarly use our Acrylic Tumbler with Straw, and I really like it for iced water and iced coffee, and the Insulated Tumbler seemed, well, cheaper (it is…by nearly $2!).  The polypropylene material is softer than the hard acrylic tumbler, and I had a hard time believing that this type of double wall tumbler would have any insulating properties (keep reading, because I was wrong!).

Tritan Water Bottles: Spout or No Spout?

Tritan water bottles–we love ’em! And, we know you will too. The question is: do you want a drinking spout, straw, or twist off lid? In the end, it really comes down to preference. Tritan water bottles are dishwasher safe, stainproof, and odorproof. If you’d like more information on Tritan’s history, read this blog. So, what to choose? Let us offer up a few suggestions!

Tritan water bottlesFirst up is our popular Traditional Water Bottle. We love this bottle’s large color assortment and sleek design, as well as its ability to handle vertical imprints and large logos. The crest lid has a built in grab handle that makes it easy to tote around and the opening is wide enough to fit ice cubes.

What our staff tester didn’t like about this bottle is the lid. She said, “I work at a desk all day and I prefer to drink through spouts, so I don’t have to constantly screw and unscrew the cap–or risk the possibility of knocking the bottle over and spilling water on my desk.”

Despite really liking the overall design of the Tradititional Water Bottle, she really needs a spout lid for her purposes (that’s why we just added the Traditional Water Bottle with Straw to our lineup!). Continue reading

Tritan Straw Bottle: Bulletin Bottle Staff Review

For our staff reviews, we pick one or two of our water bottles, have our staff members put them through the wringer, and comment on the outcomes here (and encourage our clients to do the same!). This week, we’ve chosen our Tritan Straw Bottle.

Tritan water bottles are our favorite plastic water bottles. They are lightweight, durable, shatter resistant, and dishwasher safe. Tritan bottles do not absorb odors or stains, and keep the beverages in them tasting fresh and clean.

Tritan Straw Bottle

The Tritan Straw Bottle is a staff favorite. We love that it has all the benefits of a Tritan plastic water bottle, plus the added functionality that a straw top gives. The water flow was just right, and the finger hold made for easy portability. Our staff member preferred the straw because the water doesn’t slosh out of a wide opening. The only downside here is that the color options are a bit limiting.

Bulletin Bottle Staff Review: Spigot Stainless Bottle

Every week we pick one or two of our water bottles and have our staff members put them through the wringer. We’ll comment on the outcomes here (and encourage our clients to do the same!). This week, we’ve chosen our Spigot Stainless Bottle.

We really like the overall appearance of the Spigot Stainless Bottle. It’s simple, with gentle contour—yet still fits in standard cupholders. The spout size is perfect for fast water flow—especially after a workout. Our staff tester also really liked the convenience of the flip-up cap. Fluid didn’t leak out, despite the lack of a lid lock. We do wish, however, that this bottle had a finger loop (though it does have a place to attach a carabiner and/or keyring).

Bulletin Bottle Staff Reviews: Velocity Sport Bottle and Wave Bottles

Every week we pick two of our water bottles and have our staff members put them through the wringer. We’ll comment on the outcomes here (and encourage our clients to do the same!). This week, we’ve chosen our Velocity Sport Bottle and our two Wave bottles: Large Wave Water Bottle and Small Wave Water Bottle.

The Velocity Sport Bottle is great. Our staff has seen it for sale and in use all over the place. It’s a popular design that was well liked by our tester. She really liked the drinking spout (and locking lid) and the overall size of the bottle. The lid stayed locked, but at the same time it was easy to open on the go. What she didn’t like about this bottle is the lid composition. She said it seemed a little flimsy—but she also worked it hard during testing and didn’t have any problems with it.

Our Small Wave Water Bottle and Large Wave Water Bottle share a simple design, with some nice touches. Our tester liked the angled finger hole on the bottles. She also liked the rubber accents on the lid—she thought it makes the bottles feel substantial and more expensive. The lids screwed on easily and tightly. She did feel like the bottle lips were a little awkward, as though they didn’t curve down on themselves enough. She also noticed a very faint metal smell the first time she used the bottles. This is somewhat common with all stainless steel bottles, though.
